The unique design has the main roof in an oval shape, which had portions of Klip-lok 700 (1,500m2), which was laid over safety mesh, 145mm thick foil backed insulation and 120mm high J clip spacers.
This Klip-lok roof then butted into vast areas of green roof (with grass and shrubs) and a viewing walkway. Axis also completed a large ancillary roof, which was completed in Klip-Lok 700 + 2 Lantern roofs (with hips).
Axis completed the stainless steel box gutters which ran the perimeter of the green roof and was then covered in membrane + a grated walkway.
Axis also completed the perimeter fascia and curved capping’s in “Surfmist” Colorbond that fixed to the exposed timber fascia. These capping’s had to be done in 4 separate pieces due to the steps in the fascia design.
Due to the green roof abuting the Colorbond Klip-Lok 700, there were many factors that had to be taken into account, especially where the green roof drained into our stainless steel perimeter gutter. These gutters had to be tapered and perforated in sections to allow the soil to drain sufficiently.
