Axis Alexandria

The projects name changed from ECB Rise to Axis Alexandria during the construction phase. This was the first multi-level warehouse project constructed in Sydney, which has now seen multiple other building’s follow in it’s footsteps.

Axis was heavily involved in the initial design phase with Besix Watpac to ensure that the roofing and wall cladding installation was achievable with the multi-level requirement. Due to the multiple levels, lower level steel work (for level 1) needed to be constructed prior to the roof framing, which interfered with our ability to install the safety mesh to code. However our expert team came up with solutions to achieve the required outcome without affecting program, standards or the design requirements.

Axis’s scope included over 7,000m2 of Klip-Lok 700 roofing, 1,000 linear metres of Wonderglas skylight sheeting, 58 mechanical roof penetrations, internal parapet lining, box gutters, façade flashings and cladding, foil backed glasswool insulation, downpipes, bird netting, flashings and capping’s to the two warehouse building roofs.

The two warehouses are separated by a multi-level breezeway, which included two levels of Trimdek cladding + framing and flashings around the structural support beams, roller doors and openings.
