4,000m2 of 250mm thick Aquatek (ARC) insulated roof panels, 200m2 of Klip-Lok roofing, half-round eaves gutters, downpipes, framing, custom colorbond fascia’s + more.
The 250mm insulated panels were subject to long lead times and therefore there was plenty of planning that went into organising this project. Site measuring the panel lengths isn’t possible (due to the long lead times), so a fair bit of time went into reviewing and assessing architectural, structural and shop drawings to obtain correct lengths. This is critical, as if lengths are incorrect it is not only costly, but there is a huge lead time to get replacement panels.
Each panel was lifted to the roof individually using a vacuum lifter and large crane. The fasteners were 300mm long and had to be installed carefully to ensure the screws reached the support framework.
Due to the design, no safety mesh was used which also added challenges to the install. Axis developed a safe method to install the panels via temporary anchor points and strategic panel placements which the client and builder were impressed with.
